Final Year Undergraduate
BA Hons Journalism (Broadcast)

ABOUT ME
I am a third and final year BA Hons Student in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Salford with hands-on experience across TV, radio, and online reporting. This year, I am specialising in investigative reporting and photojournalism to further my storytelling and research skills. As a part of Quays News, Salford University's media platform, I am experienced in working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
My practical skills include:
-
Content Creation: Researching and producing original news stories, filming TV packages, and capturing photojournalism assets.
-
Fieldwork: Arranging and conducting broadcast interviews for both TV and radio, as well as recording on-the-street vox-pops.
-
Technical Production: Editing packages for TV, Radio and Social Media platforms.
Below is a showcase of some of my work over the course of my time at Salford. Most pieces were produced under strict deadlines, and whilst I am happy with them, some editorial errors (namely jump-cuts) are evident in the work. Details such as these are an aspect I have been ensuring I do not include in my output for my final year.
Currently, I am seeking an industry placement where I can grow my skills, gain more real world experience, contribute to your daily output, and learn from seasoned professionals.
PORTFOLIO
Featured Report 1: Manchester Protests, 21/02/2026
This piece documents the Britain First 'March for Remigration' and its counter-protests, capturing the city’s atmosphere through my own camerawork, editing, and field reporting. In order to deliver a balanced, objective report, I conducted on-the-street interviews and managed the editorial judgements and risks of conflict reporting. All work is entirely my own, except for the interview segments where a friend assisted with the camera.
Featured Report 2: Gooseside Skatepark
This piece documents the closure of Gooseside Skatepark, a community built area in Ancoats which was demolished to make way for the new Manchester Digital Campus. I interviewed individuals at the park as well as Neil Ellis from Skateboard GB, giving viewers an idea of the benefits projects such as skateparks can bring to the wider community outside of just action sports enthusiasts.
Featured Report 3: The Iran War, 3 Months On
This was a radio piece I made 3 months after the start of the Iran War. I attempted to give listeners a brief but comprehensive view of the history and background of the conflict, listing key events which had occurred since the war began. It was broadcast live, and I used my access and knowledge of the IRN to add clips to the story, something I found hugely beneficial for engagement.
